Haven't heard of them? Me either, until today when my wedding photog friend Emily posted something on my wall. Basically, what they are is a photo session on your wedding day of just you and your fiancé seeing each other for the first time. Instead of you two seeing each other for the first time walking down the isle, you do pictures of the two of you in a more intimate setting, away from all the eye's of your friends and family.
This could either be really cool, or not so much, depending on the couple. If you've always wanted the big reveal of you walking down the isle, then this route isn't for you. However, there's something very special about seeing each other for the first time on your big day. And how awesome would it be to be able to capture the looks on both your faces when you see each other for the first time?
What do you think of this new trend?
I'm not sure how I feel about that. I guess its like you said: depends on the person, but personally, I think I'd rather see my fiance coming down the isle. That may be just me though. Definitely have the photographer make sure to capture that moment either way.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog by the way. Looks great!
That is a very interesting idea! How do you feel about it? Do you get all ready and do them RIGHT before the actual wedding? I suppose many of the guests might also feel a little cheated because for many people I know that is the best part of a wedding.
ReplyDeleteI think you get all ready and then do them right before the actual ceremony! Kind of cool. One bride I read about said something about her not wanting to be all emotional and weepy as she walked down the isle. That's just the practical reason, but I think it would be cool to have that moment really captured well.
ReplyDeleteThat's a tough decision. The "Big reveal" is cool because everyone gets to be in on it, but since the bride and groom are so far apart at that moment, it's hard to get them both at once. Either way, I'd go for the video camera as well as still photos. If going down the aisle, one on the bride and one of the groom. The personal one would be cool though on video, really close up and intimate to see the expressions, etc.

ReplyDeleteI think it does depend on the couple for me personally I would like the reveal of walking down the isle. I was in a wedding in October and the couple did all there wedding pictures bridesmaids and groomsmen all the pictures before the ceremony that is a totally different preference just not one for me, but a good idea for people that would like that.
ReplyDeleteI would wait until you see each other walking down the aisle. The photographer is there to take pictures of you as you see each other during that moment anyway, and with all your friends and family around I think it's much more magical :)
